Freckled Python
Liasis mackloti
The freckled python is an egg-laying python from eastern Indonesian islands and Timor-Leste, with regional taxonomy and range records needing care. Adults are usually olive or brown with pale flecks, a light underside and iridescent scales. Specialist collections maintain this robust ground-using snake. Housing needs secure floor space, retreats, clean water and a controlled thermal gradient. It is distinct from the brown water python Liasis fuscus, though older records may combine them.
