Eurydactylodes occidentalis
Eurydactylodes occidentalis
Eurydactylodes occidentalis is a small, egg-laying chameleon gecko from western southern New Caledonia. Large angular head scales and three irregular dark bands on a pale background help identify it; the mouth-side slit does not join the groove beneath the ear. Specialist gecko breeders keep it on fine branches and foliage in secure planted enclosures with controlled humidity, ventilation and appropriately small foods.
It is distinct from Eurydactylodes symmetricus and the more frequently kept E. agricolae and E. vieillardi, so lineage records matter.
