Emperor Tetra
Nematobrycon palmeri
The emperor tetra is an egg-laying freshwater fish from Colombia. It has a dark longitudinal stripe, an iridescent upper body and an extended central tail ray in mature males. Keep a group in a planted aquarium with shaded cover and room for males to establish small territories. Offer varied small foods and peaceful companions. Breeding uses sheltered spawning sites, and eggs and fry should be protected from adults.
