Elegant Gecko
Stenodactylus sthenodactylus
The elegant gecko is a small, nocturnal ground gecko of dry parts of North Africa and the Middle East. Its pale spotted body, large vertical-pupil eyes, narrow toes and slender banded tail distinguish it from geckos with broad adhesive pads. Small-gecko breeders use a securely closed enclosure with sandy ground, low shelters, a controlled temperature gradient and tiny insect prey.
Females lay eggs. It is Stenodactylus sthenodactylus, separate from Anderson's short-fingered gecko and the diminutive Tropiocolotes species.
