Cuban Giant Anole
Anolis equestris
The Cuban giant anole, also called the knight anole, is a large, egg-laying tree lizard native to Cuba. Adults are usually green with a yellow stripe below the eye and along the shoulder, a stout head and a long tail; color can darken with conditions. Experienced keepers provide a tall, secure, densely furnished enclosure with sturdy branches and controlled warmth, humidity and lighting.
It eats insects and other animal foods. Its size, territorial behavior and strong bite make it a specialist animal rather than a larger version of a small community anole.
