Colombian Giant Redleg Tarantula
Megaphobema robustum
The Colombian giant redleg tarantula is a large terrestrial spider with dark body coloration and contrasting reddish leg hairs. It lays eggs in a silk sac and uses ground-level shelter. Provide substantial floor space, deep substrate, a secure retreat, ventilation and access to moisture and drinking water. Offer appropriately sized insects and avoid excessive fall height. Its defensive behavior and irritating hairs favor observation over handling.
