Centralian Knob-tailed Gecko
Nephrurus amyae
The Centralian knob-tailed gecko is a stout, nocturnal Australian desert gecko with rough scales, a broad head and an exceptionally short knobbed tail. It lays eggs in suitable damp nesting substrate. Captive housing should emphasize floor area, sheltered dry retreats and a humid sand hide, with a controlled thermal gradient. Feed varied supplemented insects. It is best observed with minimal handling; consistent breeding involves carefully managed seasonal changes.
