Cat Gecko
Aeluroscalabotes felinus
The cat gecko is a nocturnal forest gecko of Southeast Asia, recognized by reddish-brown coloring, pale spots, eyelids and a tail that can curl around a resting perch. Unlike many climbing geckos, it lacks broad adhesive toe pads. It is a specialist captive species: keepers use densely furnished, humid enclosures with branches, shaded retreats and careful ventilation rather than a hot desert setup.
It eats small invertebrates and lays eggs. Captive-origin records matter because trade names can hide distinct regional forms.
