Mixed Variety

A mixed variety black skirt tetra is an assortment of Gymnocorymbus ternetzi that does not separate fish by a single trade form. It may include standard black skirt or black widow tetras, white skirt and albino fish, long-fin lines, and fluorescent GloFish-derived colors. All share the deep-bodied tetra shape and the broad anal fin that gives the species its skirted look, though color and fin length can differ greatly within one group.

In aquariums, these are active schooling fish best bought in groups large enough to spread minor fin-nipping and social chasing. They fit peaceful community tanks with open swimming space, cover, and steady water quality rather than extreme soft-water conditions. Mixed purchases are useful for display tanks, but breeders who want predictable offspring should start with a known single variety and avoid crossing long-fin or fluorescent lines unintentionally.

Colors: Albino, Black, Glofish, Long Fin, White
