Barking Gecko
Underwoodisaurus milii
The barking gecko is a terrestrial, nocturnal Australian gecko that lays eggs. Its broad tail and dark body with pale spots distinguish it from the short knob-tailed Nephrurus species. Provide floor space, stable hides, a humid retreat for shedding and a controlled temperature gradient, with dry resting areas. Feed varied supplemented insects and avoid crowding. Its defensive calls explain the barking name; it is also called the thick-tailed gecko.
