Banded Leaf-Toed Gecko
Hemidactylus fasciatus
The banded leaf-toed gecko is a West African forest gecko with a pale body crossed by broad dark bands and expanded climbing digits. The modern species has a more restricted range than older accounts of Hemidactylus fasciatus, following the separation of several similar species.
Keeper guidance treats it as a tropical climbing gecko, with controlled warmth and humidity, secure housing and feeder insects. It lays eggs and feeds on insects. Record its origin and scientific identity, since trade names can cover other members of the former species complex.
