Unclassified Strain

An unclassified strain banded cricket is a Gryllodes sigillatus colony whose line has not been named, isolated, or verified by the supplier. It may come from commercial feeder stock, a private colony, or mixed background animals selected only for steady reproduction. Color terms such as brown, tan, striped, or wild type may describe individuals in the tub, but they do not make the colony a formal strain.

Care and handling are the same as for other banded crickets. Productive colonies need warmth, dry hiding space, good airflow, a clean food source, and safe moisture that does not swamp the enclosure. People buying them as feeders should consider size, freshness, odor, and whether the crickets were kept on a useful gut-load. For breeding, starting with healthy, active adults and replacing old stock when productivity drops matters more than the unclassified label.

Colors: Banded, Black, Brown, Gold, Striped, Tan, White, Wild Type
