Baja Blue Rock Lizard
Petrosaurus thalassinus
The Baja blue rock lizard is an egg-laying lizard of rocky country in southern Baja California, Mexico. Adults show blue or turquoise tones, dark patterning, a conspicuous neck collar and orange around the eyes, although coloration varies. Zoos and experienced lizard keepers maintain this agile rock climber.
Captive housing should offer securely supported rockwork, crevices, climbing space and a controlled basking gradient with suitable lighting. The related Petrosaurus repens is a separate species, rather than another name for every Baja rock lizard.
