Annam Leaf Turtle
Mauremys annamensis
The Annam leaf turtle is an egg-laying Vietnamese freshwater turtle with a dark shell and pale yellow stripes on the head and neck. It inhabits lowland wetlands and is maintained in conservation breeding programs and specialist collections. Captive management needs clean freshwater, accessible sheltered land and suitable nesting substrate, with documented breeding provenance.
Mauremys annamensis is CITES Appendix I, so international movement requires the appropriate documentation. It is a separate species from Mauremys nigricans.
