Mixed Morph

A mixed morph African bullfrog refers to Pyxicephalus adspersus with color or pattern traits that do not fall neatly into one named line. It may combine normal wild-type green or olive tones with yellow influence, high contrast markings, or albino ancestry. Because African bullfrog morph language is less standardized than in some reptile hobbies, the label usually points to visible variation or uncertain pairing history rather than a formal breed.

Keepers should judge mixed morph animals by health, sex, size, feeding response, and body condition before color. African bullfrogs grow large, eat heavily, and need a secure enclosure with deep damp substrate, clean water, warmth, and room to sit partly buried. Breeders benefit from noting parent colors and hatch dates, since mixed pairings can produce variable offspring and make later identification difficult.

Colors: Albino, High Contrast, Normal/Wild Type, Yellow
