We’re excited to introduce JCA Remington Steele, affectionately known as “Remi” — a striking dun bull calf born May 22, 2025. Remi holds a special place in our hearts as the first dun bull ever born at JCA Highlands, marking an important milestone in our breeding program. While we’ve welcomed several dun heifers in past years, this handsome boy represents the next step forward for our dun genetics.

His dam, Rock Hill Raven, is a first-time mother who has done an exceptional job. Remi is already showing off a thick, wavy coat with rich, dun coloring — giving him undeniable eye appeal from every angle.

His pedigree is equally impressive. Remi’s sire, FTH Smoky Scot, is a gentle, well-made bull linebred on LEA breeding, known for producing structurally correct highlands with calm, workable temperaments. On the maternal side, Remi is linebred on Flatheads Glen Moray, a gorgeous bull from the renowned Flatheads Ranch, celebrated for producing high-quality, grass-raised Highland cattle with traditional type and longevity.

His maternal granddam, RW Duchess, is a proven impact female, and Raven’s sire is a half-brother to Finley Falls Duncan — a powerhouse show bull who earned Champion Bull honors at more than 10 shows, including back-to-back NWSS titles in Denver.
