Pilgrim's Pride Corporation

Pilgrim's Pride Corporation operates a poultry processing facility in Moorefield, West Virginia, serving the Potomac Highlands region near Winchester, Virginia. The plant handles slaughter and processing operations for chicken, turkey, and duck, supporting the area's long-standing poultry farming economy.

As one of the larger processing operations in this part of the Eastern Panhandle, the facility plays a role in moving birds from local farms through to market-ready product. Work at this scale typically involves receiving live birds, processing, and packaging, requiring coordination with growers and haulers across the surrounding counties.

For farmers and flock owners in the Hardy County area, having a processing facility nearby can shape decisions about scheduling, transport distance, and overall production planning. Moorefield's location within a historically active poultry region means facilities like this one are woven into the daily rhythm of area agriculture, from hatchery to grow-out to final processing.
