Pilgrim's Pride Corporation

Pilgrim's Pride Corporation operates a poultry processing facility in Hickory, Kentucky, serving the western Kentucky region near Paducah. The plant handles slaughter and processing for chicken, turkey, and duck, supporting the area's broader poultry production chain from farm to market.

Facilities like this one play a practical role for regional growers, contract farmers, and integrated poultry operations that need reliable processing capacity close to where birds are raised. Work at this scale typically includes receiving live birds, slaughter, and further processing into retail or food-service ready product, all under the kind of federal oversight that large-scale poultry plants operate within.

For flock owners and agricultural operations in the surrounding Kentucky and Tennessee border area, having processing infrastructure in Hickory means shorter transport distances for live birds and a steady outlet for commercial-scale production. The facility fits into a larger network of poultry supply chains that connect hatcheries, growers, and processors across the region.
