Ziamainecoons is a small, in-home Maine coon cattery based in Hobbs, New Mexico, in the southeastern corner of the state not far from the Texas border near Midland-Odessa. The program is co-owned by Angela Courter and her lifelong friend Carrie Shows, and is veteran-owned — Angela is a USAF veteran who also serves her local community through veteran information and referral work.

Health testing is a central part of how the cattery operates. All breeding cats undergo DNA testing for more than 40 genetic conditions, including PKD, HCM, PKDef, and SMA, along with cardiologist echocardiograms and hip X-rays. Pedigrees are also researched to monitor inbreeding coefficients. The cattery is registered with both TICA and CFA.

Kittens are raised inside the home alongside dogs, other cats, and grandchildren, which means they arrive in new households already comfortable around varied animals and people. The cattery's stated breeding priorities rank health first, then temperament, then structure — with coat color considered last.
