Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas

Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas, run by Beau Baty and his wife Kirstin, raises Ccara pack llamas in Idaho Falls in the heart of eastern Idaho, not far from the Teton region. Founded in 2010, the operation has grown into one of the larger pack llama programs in the United States, with a herd focused entirely on the working Ccara — the classic, athletically built llama bred for strength and endurance on the trail.

The program's roots go back to a deliberate effort to preserve the Ccara breed at a time when its numbers were declining in North America. Baty and his team have traveled widely to source quality working bloodlines, keeping the herd's focus squarely on pack ability rather than wool or show traits. Llamas for sale in Idaho from this program are trail-hardened animals with real backcountry miles behind them.

The ranch operates year-round out of eastern Idaho, with the herd hauling trail supplies regularly across a long working season. Baty also hosts educational events at the ranch where prospective buyers and llama owners can handle animals, ask questions, and observe trained packers in action before making a purchase.
