TwistedSister

TwistedSister breeds African pygmy hedgehogs in central Indiana near Indianapolis. Over the last five years it has developed reliable breeding practices, working with resources from national exotic animal care associations and following health screening protocols recommended for hedgehogs.

The hedgehogs are raised in spacious, well-ventilated enclosures with daily interaction to build gentle temperaments. Enclosures include deep substrate for natural digging and temperature is maintained between 72 and 78°F. TwistedSister feeds a varied diet that includes high-quality insectivorous pellets supplemented with live insects and fresh produce, and provides timed play sessions in supervised pens.

Each hedgehog undergoes a veterinary wellness check before leaving the nursery and comes with a written care guide. Lineage records are maintained for each litter to ensure transparency on parental health and temperament. A recent review noted the calm nature of its piglets, reflecting the careful handling and socialization they experience from an early age.
