Southern Asspitality Miniature Donkeys raises MDR-registered miniature Mediterranean donkeys in Wartrace, Tennessee, a small town in the rolling countryside of middle Tennessee, roughly an hour southeast of Nashville. Debbie Ames runs the operation as a family program alongside her daughter Savannah, and their herd currently numbers around 23 donkeys.

The program breeds and shows its animals, with a focus on personality, conformation, and the long-term health of the breed. Foals are socialized early, given a foundation of handling and training, and exposed to positive experiences in their first months so they arrive in new homes with settled temperaments. The herd carries pedigrees rooted in well-known miniature donkey lines, including My World Buster, Circle C, Cobra's, Dewey Meadows, and TTW Cowboy's Kalamazoo, among others. A wide range of coat colors is represented across the herd.

The family places a strong emphasis on responsible placement. Jack foals are gelded before going to pet homes, and all donkeys are required to go to homes that provide a donkey companion.
