Smoky Hill Hedgies

Smoky Hill Hedgies is a breeder of African Pygmy hedgehogs in central Kansas near Wichita. It has been raising hedgehogs for several years and follows health screening guidelines recommended by recognized hedgehog organizations, including annual weight checks. Each animal lives in a temperature-controlled habitat with soft, dust-free bedding, multiple hideaways, and a silent wheel for exercise, with fresh water available at all times.

Hedgehogs receive daily handling sessions of twenty minutes and supervised playtime in a secure area to encourage social skill development and reduce stress. Diets are tailored with high-protein kibble supplemented by mealworms, crickets and fresh produce, along with occasional vitamin-fortified supplements, and veterinary exams are scheduled regularly.
