Noreastercoons raises Maine coon cats on a small farm in Hampton, Connecticut, in the quiet Last Green Valley of northeast Connecticut, roughly an hour from Providence. Owner Aija Pelletier brings a depth of animal-science background to the program, having studied animal science and genetics in college and worked as a veterinary technician for nearly a decade across practices in New York, North Carolina, and Connecticut before becoming a registered nurse.

The foundation cats were imported from Europe and Asia and selected specifically for temperament, color, head type, ear set, coat, size, and bone structure. All breeding cats are registered with TICA and dual-registered in Europe and Asia. Health testing covers feline leukemia virus, feline immunodeficiency virus, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and kittens receive their first vaccinations at eight weeks with a follow-up between ten and twelve weeks.

Cats at Noreastercoons are family raised alongside children and dogs rather than housed in cages, and the program prioritizes quality over volume.
