Meadow View Farm raises belted Galloway cattle across the hills of Lyndonville, Vermont, in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom — roughly 30 miles northeast of St. Johnsbury. The operation is run by Richard Downing and family, whose roots in cattle farming stretch back to the 1970s, when the family kept a small herd in Massachusetts before relocating to Vermont in the following decade.

The farm spans over 845 acres of fields and forests, supporting a herd of around 130 head of grass-fed belted Galloways raised for beef, show stock, and breeding. Founded in 1996, the property includes roughly 275 acres of pastureland where cattle graze during the summer months. To carry the herd through Vermont's long winters, the farm produces its own haylage on-site — a fully self-contained forage system that keeps feeding practices consistent year-round.

Meadow View Farm is a member of the Belted Galloway Society and has built a reputation for carrying some of the oldest and strongest belted Galloway genetics available, with breeding stock sought out by other producers across the country. The herd is raised without hormones in a low-stress environment, and the cattle are regularly shown at local and regional fairs.
