Kat's Exotics

Kat’s Exotics is a breeder of African pygmy hedgehogs in Northeast Ohio near Cleveland. Kathy Risch has cared for these small mammals for several years and partners with local veterinarians to ensure routine health checks and guidance on preventive care. Each hedgehog lives in a cleaned, climate-controlled indoor habitat stocked with enrichment items such as tunnels and wheels, and receives a diet of high-quality insectivore pellets supplemented with fresh fruits and vegetables. Hedgehogs in her program are handled gently from a young age to encourage calm, confident temperaments and allow smooth transitions to new homes. Many adoptive families remark on the clear guidance provided about enrichment and care routines.

Over time Kathy refined her setup to include separate breeding quarters and a dedicated playroom where hedgehogs explore tunnels and supervised floor time.
