Hissyfitcoons raises Maine coon cats in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, a small town in the Upstate region about 15 minutes north of Greenville. Chad and Rhonda Lund started the cattery in 2013 after extensive research led them to the Maine coon breed, and they have been refining their program ever since.
The program centers on European bloodlines, with cats imported from Poland, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Lithuania, and the Netherlands. The Lunds have spent years evaluating catteries across those countries to bring in cats that strengthen health, temperament, size, and overall appearance in each successive generation. Hissyfitcoons has been a member of TICA since 2019.
The cattery's setup reflects how seriously the Lunds approach daily care. Two dedicated cattery buildings, climate-controlled and built to home-like standards, house most of the queens and their litters. A kitten nursery inside the family home provides additional hands-on attention during the earliest weeks of life.
