Heathen Holler Farm

Heathen Holler Farm raises registered Scottish highland cattle in Ripley, West Virginia, in the heart of the Mountain State about an hour northwest of Charleston. Sherrie and Ed Moore established the farm in 2016, purchasing land that came with rocky terrain and poor grazing ground — conditions that pointed them toward the Scottish highland breed as a natural fit.

The farm concentrates on mid-sized registered highland cattle as well as Highpark calves, working the land rather than running a showpiece operation. The Moores were drawn to highlands specifically because of their foraging ability on brushy, tree-heavy ground, and the herd is raised on a combination of pasture, supplemental hay, and grain. For anyone searching for highland cattle for sale in West Virginia, Heathen Holler Farm reflects a working-farm approach rooted in the practical strengths of the breed on challenging Appalachian terrain.
