DELYAKS, owned by Bob Hasse, raises American yaks in Montrose, Colorado, on the western slope of the state roughly an hour from Grand Junction. Hasse founded the operation after first encountering yaks at the National Western Stock Show in Denver and later sold his prior business to raise the animals full-time.

A distinguishing focus of the program is the golden yak, a rare color variant produced by selectively breeding for a recessive gene. The herd is managed across rented pastures west of Montrose and an 800-acre ranch near Norwood, where the animals graze on grass and forage without grain or feed supplements. Hasse has served as president of the International Yak Association and has helped neighboring ranchers in the region establish their own herds.
