Daisy Acre Ranch & Rescue

Daisy Acre Ranch & Rescue operates out of North Phoenix, Arizona, offering miniature Mediterranean donkeys for adoption as an Arizona-registered nonprofit. Founded by Kate Yanov Birtch, the rescue intercepts minis from kill pens and slaughter sales in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, giving them a second chance before placing them with families.

Each animal is quarantined, vetted, hoof-trimmed, and wormed upon arrival. Many have experienced neglect or abuse, or have had little human handling, so the team works to gentle them before matching them with permanent homes. Since launching in 2021, the program has facilitated well over 100 adoptions, ranging from micro and miniature donkeys to mules and horses.
