Clear Morning Provisions
Clear Morning Provisions, run by Tori Rozanski, raises American guinea hogs on a homestead in Hughesville, Maryland, in the Southern Maryland region south of Washington, D.C.
The operation traces its roots to 2014, when a search for locally raised, outdoor-grown pork led to the farm's first American guinea hog acquisition. The hogs are raised on pasture rather than in confinement, in keeping with the farm's broader commitment to humanely raised, locally grown food. Registered breeding stock from Clear Morning Provisions has traveled to farms across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida, reflecting a program that places animals with other working farm operations.
Selective breeding is an active part of the hog program. The farm has worked toward developing a distinct "Clyde Type" line, with an emphasis on structure traits such as top line, snout length, and ham development. Clear Morning Provisions is a registered member of the American Guinea Hog Association. Beyond pigs, the homestead also raises Shetland sheep and poultry, including Barred Plymouth Rock and Speckled Sussex chickens, alongside heritage waterfowl breeds.
