Chemicoons

Chemicoons, run by Liz Brown in the Chicago, Illinois area, breeds Maine coons with a strong emphasis on health testing and show-quality lines. The cattery is registered with both TICA and CFA, and Liz has served in prominent roles within the breed community, including as Chair of the TICA Maine Coon Breed Committee, former TICA Vice President, and former TICA Regional Director.

The program keeps a small number of females and produces only a handful of litters per year, allowing each cat and kitten to receive individualized attention and high-quality veterinary care. No cat in the household is caged, and kittens are raised underfoot alongside the family. Health testing covers genetic screening for HCM, SMA, PKD, and PK Deficiency, along with echocardiograms for HCM and hip imaging for feline hip dysplasia, with all cats confirmed FeLV and FIV negative.

Chemicoons has produced Maine coon cats for sale in Illinois and beyond from Supreme Grand Champion, Regional Winner, and International Winner lines — including a TICA International Best Kitten of the Year. Kittens are placed in approved, indoor-only homes under a no-declaw agreement, and each comes with a written 10-year genetic health guarantee.
