Blackthai Cattery in Castro Valley, California has been connected to the Thai breed for close to three decades. Owner Thomas L. Bolles first began working with old-style Siamese cats roughly thirty years ago, maintained that same line for fifteen years, and returned to breeding after a decade-long pause once his family was ready to be fully involved in the program.

The cattery sits in the San Francisco Bay Area, east of Oakland, and operates as a genuine household program. Queens, studs, and kittens are never caged, and kittens have the run of the home by around six weeks of age. From there they also ride along on family outings and visits, a deliberate part of the socialization approach. Two Basenji dogs share the home and contribute to that exposure as well.

Blackthai is a TICA-member cattery, with parents registered through The International Cat Association.
