Marathon Wagyu

Marathon Wagyu, Wagyu cattle, Emerald, QLD in the Central Highlands near Rockhampton. Marathon Wagyu is led by Michael Mccosker, who has guided his family-run operation over several seasons according to Australian Wagyu Association protocols. Its registered herd undergoes genetic health testing and performance recording to maintain consistent breeding standards across all stock. Animals spend their lives on open-air paddocks with rotational grazing and secure shelters available during seasonal weather events.

Calves are socialized from an early age, developing calm temperaments through daily low-stress handling routines. A locally tailored finishing program uses regionally sourced grains to enhance marbling while respecting animal welfare guidelines. Through collaboration with neighbouring producers and by offering registered bulls and heifers suited for herd improvement, the farm contributes to a regional network focused on grazing best practices and herd health.
