Arctic Fox

Arctic Fox are raising Shetland sheep in Potlatch, ID in the Palouse near Moscow. Nelson and J C have been breeding these sheep for over ten years under American Sheep Industry Association guidelines, with regular health screenings for parasites and footrot. Their flock grazes on rotational pasture alongside native grasses, and lambs are handled gently from birth to encourage calm temperaments.

The farm’s origins date back to a family homestead, and several sheep have earned regional show ribbons for wool quality and conformation. Visitors note the breeders’ attentive manner and the animals’ sturdy build, reflecting a dedication to welfare and sustainable farming practices. Their sheep often visit local classrooms and mingle easily with dogs and other farm animals, which suits them for farm tours and learning programs. Wool is processed on-site, yielding soft, fine fleece ideal for hand spinning and felting.
